Logo No-Go
It’s now not far off six months since the company Wolff Olins unveiled the logo for which it had received £400,000. It’s supposed to be used to brand the London Olympics in 2012.
This is it:

Yuck. I can’t get over how abysmal that is. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out it’s someone’s idea of a joke.
And the really striking thing is that, when bidding for the Olympics, the London delegation was making use of an exceptionally good logo:

I think it’s wonderfully novel how the ribbon represents the Thames.
Petitions have been set up demanding that the logo be dropped. I even saw an offer made by someone on the BBC’s website. Here it is:

See? That’s about a million times better than the rubbish that we currently have.
